James holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designations, reinforcing his knowledge of complex insurance needs. A veteran of the United States military, James completed two overseas deployments. His service shaped a disciplined, mission-focused approach that he now brings to leadership, business, and publicly speaking with high school students. He has served on nearly a dozen local boards and commissions, is the past President of the Portage Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as President of the Fire Merit Board.
